Broad Beach is a secluded Malibu, California beachfront enclave. This gorgeous neighborhood is situated along the Pacific Coast Highway and is bordered on one side by the Pacific Ocean and on the other by the Santa Monica Mountains.
Its western most point, Victoria Point, contains a tiny enclave of tidepools that can be explored during low tides and Trancas Point, one of Malibu's best surf breaks. To its east, the beach continues all the way to Point Dume, making it ideal for sunset strolls, picnics, and early morning jogs!
Interestingly, the road that goes through this quiet coastal community was formerly the original PCH. Later, it was relocated above, closer to the base of the Santa Monica Mountains, transforming this route into an isolated coastal haven.
During the early 1900s, numerous silent films, including "The Sheik" starring Rudolph Valentino, were filmed on the shore. The Malibu West Beach Club was constructed on the location in the 1930s, and it became a famous hangout for Hollywood celebrities.
