Homes

Malibu Road has about 250 residential units that flank the beach, with the majority of these being two-story, single-family homes on the ocean side. The oceanfront homes can extend an area that is 60 feet in width and 100 feet in depth. The houses along this length of land are built in a variety of architectural styles, including modern, Cape Cod, Mediterranean, and contemporary. While some houses have undergone several modifications, others have maintained their original design over time. There are also residences on Malibu Road's landside in addition to those on the coastal side. These homes are typically two stories and located on larger lots, with some having between 1.25 and 4 acres of land. There are a number of posh apartment buildings and condominiums on the northern end of Malibu Road, each with rental units.

History

The Pacific Coast Highway originally included a section of Malibu Road, which wound its way down the magnificent coastline. However, Malibu Road became a popular destination once the PCH was moved inland in 1948. Here, sumptuous vacation homes owned by Hollywood's elite of the 1940s and 1950s can be found. Malibu Road is still affectionately referred to as "the Old Road" by locals who have lived there for a long time or who grew up close by because of its previous connection to the PCH. Currently, Malibu Road is a picturesque two-lane road that stretches down the coast for roughly 2.5 miles, running parallel to both the Pacific Ocean and the PCH. While the eastbound exit connects to the PCH, the westbound entry requires utilizing Webb Way. Malibu Road is a beautiful coastal haven with a plethora of gorgeous residences and unspoiled beaches that can be found along the way.
