The desirable neighborhood of Malibu West is best known for its single-level ranch homes, and Malibu West Beach Club and tennis court rights.   Most of the homes in Malibu West were originally designed by architects Nisan Matlin and Eugene Dvoretzky. Many of the original homes have been remodeled, but most still remain mostly single-level ranch and mid-century style homes.

The upper part of Malibu West, above the canyon and creek below, follows Trancas Canyon Road away from Pacific Coast Highway towards the Ana Capa View Estates (not part of the Malibu West swim club). Many of these properties have beautiful ocean views of Zuma Beach and Point Dume. There is also a condominium complex on Tapia Drive that offers Malibu’s most affordable housing with beach rights.

One of the main draws of Malibu West is it’s proximity to amenities as well as a were system for all the homes and condos rather than most of Malibu which operates on private septic systems. Residents here can walk to the Trancas Country Market and a short drive from schools in Malibu Park and Point Dume Village. At the top of Trancas Canyon Road, the Park offers a great playground, dog park, and a massive lawn for games and play-time.
